Before the township keeps funding this, we deserve a clear public accounting: what it costs, who can search the data, and how that use is reviewed. Please release those records and vote in public before renewal.

They log when my family, my neighbors, and everyone driving through comes and goes, and they keep that history in a searchable database. Most of us are not suspected of anything. I am asking the Trustees to pause this system, turn off outside sharing, and let residents decide in public whether we want a permanent record of our daily movements.
I am a Liberty Township resident, and my concern is where this data can travel. The same Sheriff's Office that runs these cameras is one of only four in Ohio holding both a Flock contract and a 287(g) immigration agreement with ICE, and its deputies can now act on immigration during routine traffic stops. Ninety minutes away, Dayton just covered its cameras after finding thousands of immigration-related searches of its data. I am not accusing anyone here of misusing our data. I am saying we do not know the settings, and before we fund this, the Trustees should show residents exactly who can search Liberty's data and why.
